Are you looking to develop your professional skills as part of a collaborative team? A large biotech seeks a talented and motivated IP Administrator to join their team on a 6-month contract basis that has the potential to extend. The individual in this position will work closely with in-house and outside patent practitioners, docketing, and annuity service providers to ensure optimal management of patent prosecution within the IP group. Moreover, this is a great opportunity for an exceedingly organized professional looking expand in a vigorous and growing environment.

Responsibilities:
  • Maintain and monitor all patent prosecution and maintenance deadlines in our commercial docket system (CPi)
  • Generate docket reports and conducting weekly docket reviews with in-house patent practitioners
  • Manage the annuity payment cycle, review payment due dates, request updates from in-house patent practitioners, etc.
  • Handle formal document requests between outside counsel and current and ex-employee inventors Prepare patent schedules and related summaries of patent statistics and status updates
  • Create new billing records
  • Coordinate payment activities with the Accounting group
  • Conduct first pass review of invoices for alignment with our Outside Patent Counsel billing guidelines
  • Match invoices with specific disclosures and patent applications in e-billing system

Qualifications:
  • Experience with electronic filing and document management system and knowledge of CPi docketing and annuity
  • 1 year of experience as IP paralegal
  • Understanding of U.S. and foreign patent laws and procedures
  • Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Enthusiastic, dynamic, organized, analytical and collaborative
  • Capacity to multi-task, take initiative, work independently, and use creative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to create and maintain a team spirit and harmonious working relationships

Preferences:
  • Bachelor s Degree
  • A current Notary Public commission
  • Familiarity with e-billing
  • 2 to 3 years as IP paralegal
