Sr. Accountant, DD&C and Corporate Accounting

The Opportunity

TheSenior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the books and records ofassigned Unibail-Rodamco-Westfield corporate legal entities or overheadbusiness units. He or she will be the primary contact for any US GAAP and IFRS relatedquestions regarding the assigned entities or business units.

This role will oversee analyzingmonthly/quarterly closing actuals, preparing forecasts and the annual budget inclose collaboration with the department heads and applying critical thinking tochallenge and enhance business performance. The Senior Accountant will alsoprovide cover for the team managers as required.

Senior Accountant Responsibilities :

Accounting:

  • Prepare accurate asset, liability andcapital expenditures account entries by compiling and analyzing departmental information
  • Maintain and analyze general ledger entriesto ensure the accuracy of revenue, reimbursements, and expenses
  • Ensure timely accurate reports andfinancial statements on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis
  • Prepare or review detailed GL accountreconciliations
  • Manage, reconcile, and settleintercompany account balances with affiliates
  • Prepare and review partnership contributionsand distributions
  • Process and record debt relatedentries
  • Support due diligence fortransactions such as stock issuance, stock buyback, acquisitions, dispositions,and property secured debt financing
  • Review work of others as assigned
  • Prepare schedulesand support for Quarterly Reporting and GAAP and IFRS audits
  • Identify and implement processimprovements
  • Participate in special projects
  • Budgeting & Forecasting:

  • Contribute to the annual 5 yearbudget process and quarterly forecasts
  • Act as a business partner to departmentheads to assist with their forecasts and budgets
  • Prepare and explain variance analyses
  • Business Analysis:

  • Explain key operational drivers andrelated impacts on the financial statements to key stakeholders to help set andstrive action plans.
  • Gain a thorough understanding of allsources of revenues, reimbursements, expenditures, and special accountingissues relevant to them if any
  • Think critically and challengebusiness assumptions, strategies & tactics using KPIs and knowledge ofindustry trends in order to;
  • maximize revenue/reimbursement,minimize cost and control capital expenditures.
  • help property services related businesses reachbudgeted targets.
  • Reporting:

  • Provide data in a way that isconsumable and illustrative, where necessary, to explain performance andsupport decision-making
  • Work with the company’s auditors toobtain audit opinions according to strict deadlines 
  • What we are looking for

  • 5+ years of accounting and financial analysis experience (Retailor Commercial Real Estate preferred) with general ledger and financialstatement preparation experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Accounting and/or Finance
  • CPA or equivalent qualification preferred
  • Experience with ERP, Consolidation systems is a plus
  • Strong proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to interact with senior management
  • Self-motivated, deadline driven and results oriented; a problem solver with strong teamwork skills and strong desire to drive and implement change
