Based in both New York and London, ODD is a dedicated function, independent from the investment teams, responsible for completing assessments on all newly proposed and ongoing investments in underlying funds across Alternative asset classes. ODD's reviews focus on identifying and assessing the key operational, financial, reputational, regulatory and business risks associated with such investments. Post-investment, ODD completes continued assessments on each underlying fund and its key counterparties, escalating any material findings to the relevant investment committees and internal and external clients.. Role Purpose. Reporting the Head of ODD, the Senior Analyst, Operational Due Diligence, will be based in New York and be responsible for conducting operational due diligence across the spectrum of alternative fund of fund / multi-manager products, including hedge funds, private equity, venture capital, real assets and real estate and regulated fund of funds products.. The successful candidate will work closely with the global ODD team, the investment teams and other relevant teams to achieve our goals of excellent service, scalability, efficiency and global consistency.. Undertake scheduled and ad-hoc operational due diligence reviews of third party fund managers and underlying fund service providers for existing and potential investments across all alternative asset classes and certain regulated products.. Reviews include but are not limited to:. Comprehensive analysis of key offering documents, policies, DDQs and audited financial information. Conducting meetings with C-suite executives of investment managers, administrators and other key service providers. Identify, assess and communicate observed deficiencies / areas of concern, presenting findings together with an appropriate recommendations, to the relevant investment committee(s) through written qualitative and quantitative reports and verbal presentations.. Document meetings in a clear and concise manner, identifying points for escalation and follow-up. Accurate and timely maintenance of base data records within ODD IT systems. Drive initiatives for improvement of ODD processes and controls. Attend industry conferences, forums and training events to ensure current market practices are understood and shared. Assist with ad-hoc projects and initiatives to support internal and external clients. Be willing and able to undertake modest domestic / international travel (est.10%).. Key Knowledge / Experience / Qualifications. Essential: At least two years working in an operational due diligence capacity within the alternatives fund of funds / multi-manager field, with an emphasis on hedge fund, private equity or property multi-manager asset classes. Essential: A good understanding of the full cycle of the operational due diligence review processes for newly proposed funds and ongoing fund reviews. Preferred: An undergraduate or advanced degree in business, finance, accounting, management, economics or a related field. Preferred: Relevant professional qualification - CPA preferred, CFA, CAIA and / or similar certifications considered.. Competencies. Excellent communication and relationship building skills. Strong attention to detail, highly organized and ability to prioritise workload. Demonstrates initiative and is comfortable managing deadlines. Ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team, as required. Ability to build and leverage professional relationships with investment managers, counterparties, vendors and internal/external clients. Client focussed with ability to recognise and create client value. Willingness to adapt to change and to remain resilient. Excellent business writing skills.
