We seek an experienced, entrepreneurial leader that understands the controls and rules that govern nonprofit accounting and who has a consultative approach to decision-making that incorporates the needs of a service organization. The candidate should demonstrate commitment to RPA's values of integrity, diversity, quality and trust.. Responsibilities. Reporting to the COO and serving as a member of the leadership team, the CFO will lead, develop and implement plans for long-term resource management, risk management and scaling the organization. Partnering with the Controller, the CFO provides guidance and leadership on the design and implementation of effective controls and processes. This leader models collaboration by ensuring processes are designed with an \"end-to-end\" view with considerations for risk management, expense management and client experience.. With support from the Controller, the CFO has overall management responsibility for the organization's finances and is responsible for accurate and timely recording and reporting of the organization's books and records. The CFO will be integral to building the analytical framework used to facilitate decisions around global growth, technology investment and real estate for the organization. This role will also oversee the technology function, driving systems innovation for the organization.. The position is also responsible for overseeing management of RPA's $300+ million in assets, gathering input from relevant board committees and providing direction to our investment managers based on approved investment policies.. The CFO is responsible for managing the Audit and Finance/Investment Committees of RPA's board and should have deep experience supporting board relationships as well as with audit and other consulting services.. The CFO provides leadership and direction to the Controller to oversee the daily operations and all financial activity. This person works collaboratively with our client-facing staff to understand and be responsive to our diverse and global client base and works closely with business development efforts to provide counsel on pricing of engagements. The ideal candidate enjoys \"doing\" and \"managing\" with a strong aptitude for both learning and teaching.. The CFO leads the firm on technology development providing management and leadership to the IT team with a forward vision of technology needs and investment. Provides counsel on real estate investments (leases) with an eye on leveraging technology and flexibility in the work place.. The CFO is responsible for risk management and will provide direction to the Controller and IT Director on implementation of sound policies and procedures to mitigate risk from both fraud and cyber-attacks.. The role provides financial leadership to the larger management team and to the organization providing counsel and education on financial best practices.. Desired Qualifications. BA/BS in Business with an emphasis in Accounting; CPA required. MBA or equivalent strongly preferred.. Strong commitment to RPA's values and mission. Strong knowledge of GAAP and internal controls. Demonstrated experience managing complex financials. Highly preferred is experience managing multi-company entities. High level of personal and professional integrity and trustworthiness, with strong work ethic. Ability to manage numerous project simultaneously and meet deadlines. Commitment to hiring, managing and developing a diverse team. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience presenting to boards, senior leadership and clients. Strong facilitative leadership with ability to set vision, manage to outcomes vs. process and delegate. Collegial, cordial approach that values teamwork and respects views from all voices. Advanced Excel skills, with proficiency in all Office products. Energetic with a sense of humor. Familiarity with grantmaking, charitable funds or fiscal sponsorship preferred.
