Accountemps has partnered up with a dynamic, innovative Manufacturing firm to fill a Staff Accountant position on their team. Located in the Denver, Colorado area, this long-term temporary position is an engaging, multi-faceted opportunity where hard work is rewarded. The Staff Accountant plays a major role in the preparation of monthly and year-end closings, journal entries, fixed asset maintenance, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation. This position will require a time commitment, since it produces Financial Statements, Cash Flow projections, and Budgets. During the monthly close, your will also be in charge of many aspects of internal reporting. In addition, you will take part in compliance, communicate with our external auditors for quarterly reviews and annual audits, and review schedules for the reporting processes. How you will make an impact - Be responsible for account reconciliations including prepaid expenses, payroll, and other assignments - Carry out month end close, journal entries, without supervision - Ad-hoc reporting and special projects, as needed - Prepare monthly balance sheet and income statement analyses for management reporting - Participate in various department-wide initiatives - Carry out fixed asset ledger, depreciation, and reconciliation - Maintain capital lease and monthly payment schedules - Assist in the month end, quarter end and year end closing process including monthly financial close workbook preparation - Offer descriptions of a large number of financial data and communicate insights in a useful and understandable manner - Assist in implementation, maintenance and adherence to internal controls and accounting procedures ensuring compliance with GAAPJob Requirements:
- Strong analytical capabilities and discernment - Spreadsheet and database capabilities - Strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills required - Solid understanding of cost accounting - Deep understanding of Month-end Close Activities - JD Edwards experience - Command of general ledger - Vow to meet business deadlines - Self-starter, ability to identify issues and resolve problems - Competent with spreadsheets and databases - Skilled with ERP systems - BA/BS or equivalent in Accounting, Finance or Economics - Recent and relevant accounting experience - Observant, accurate and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment - Ability to work in a dynamic and changing environment
