The Team & Role:
The Redbubble Finance team is in our Melbourne office, but due to sales tax jurisdiction and a hefty chunk of business occurring in the US, this lucky person will be based in San Francisco. You’ll report to the Head of Tax in Melbourne and will work closely with the Finance, Operations, and Customer Service teams. You’ll also get to partner with the Finance team of TeePublic Apparel in New York.

Since we conduct high volumes of business with fulfillment partners, creators and consumers throughout the world, our internal finance team must be sharp-as-a-tack smart. This unique opportunity to be our in-house Senior Tax Analyst provides an exciting chance to dig in deep -- creating strategic solutions in complex conditions to become our tax research, planning and compliance subject matter expert.
What You’ll Do: Be the first point of contact for US state tax issues including sales tax, commercial rent tax, use tax, etc for both Redbubble Inc and TeePublic Apparel LLC Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual sales/use and indirect tax returns in multiple jurisdictions Assist with compulsory (property & payroll) tax compliance including preparing returns, processing payments and appeals Assist with the preparation of the global income tax compliance & reporting deliverables, including estimated tax payments and tax return and tax provision workpapers Verify US sales tax exemption certificates Assist in responding to notices and information requests from taxing authorities, including audits and Customer Service team inquiries from RB users Assist with tax registrations in various jurisdictions Assist in documenting processes and special projects as assigned Collaborate with the operations, legal, and other teams on various projects Assist with maintaining global Tax compliance calendar Assist with continuous improvement projects around areas of responsibility
What You’ll Bring: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar training 5 years of relevant tax experience in US state taxes, predominantly in US sales tax Strong analytical and problem solving skills with demonstrated understanding of intermediate tax concepts Excitement to work autonomously on US state tax issues, partnering with greater Finance team Ability to communicate & present issues in a clear manner A curiosity and desire to learn new aspects of tax Ability to multi-task, work under pressure and work with others to meet deadlines required
