Responsible for reviewing, evaluating, and negotiating highly complex clinical trial agreements, basic science agreements, data use agreements, confidentiality agreements, and visiting scholar agreements funded by federal agencies, industry, foundations, and other universities, to establish financial, legal, and other contractual terms. Provide recommendations as to the acceptance of awards. Inform faculty and college personnel of special contractual requirements. Ensure compliance with University guidelines, federal, state, and other agency requirements. Communicate and collaborate extensively with the Human Subjects Protection Office, the Clinical Trials Office, College of Medicine Controllers Office, Hershey Medical Center Finance, Center for Medical Innovation, Penn State Risk Management, Legal Counsel, and Clinical Departments to ensure compliance with special terms and conditions required for clinical trial agreements. Responsible for development and presentation of faculty and staff education on clinical research administration topics. Keep current in University and governmental policies, rules, regulations, and practices with respect to clinical trial agreement requirements and the administration of same. Clinical research grants and/or contract experience highly desirable. Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus six years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
