The Finance Department's purpose is to assist in enhancing the financial position of the agency to better serve our clients. This is accomplished by working with programs, the Board of Directors, funders and regulators using sound fiscal practices to provide receivable, payable, reporting and other fiscal support services.


The Accounting Supervisor is responsible for the recognition of revenue from all sub-ledgers, reconciliation of the sub-ledgers to the general ledger and the cash receipts area of general accounting. He/she is also responsible for the review of journal entries, account reconciliations and account analysis prepared by accounting staff. The Accounting Supervisor is further responsible for the supervision of accounting staff, including their annual performance evaluation process. This position reports to the Fiscal Division's Controller.

KEY ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (List the functions that are essential to achieve the goals):


  • Oversee daily transactions, including but not limited accounts payable/receivable, sub- and general ledgers reconciliation and cash receipts.

  • Work closely with Controller and other Fiscal team in reducing systemic barriers

  • Contribute solution based ideas for accounting division's growth during Finance meetings

  • Ensures programmatic compliance with auditing standards and agency policies

  • Train staff on best accounting practices

  • Create and encourages opportunities for staff development and professional growth


  • Ensure accounting for revenue and cash is accurate, and completed in accordance with monthly schedule

  • Ensure all journal entries on monthly checklist are prepared in accordance with monthly schedule.Review account analysis schedules for accuracy

  • Review monthly financial statement for units assigned

  • Review current processes and procedures and assess for efficiency

  • Work with Cash Posting team to help improve processes

  • Special projects and other duties as assigned.

EDUCATIONAL / TRAINING REQUIRED (List all that is required to achieve this position):

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting with 7 years of progressive experience, including a minimum of 3-5 years supervisory experience.
  • Working knowledge with both Access and Sql., a must
