Description

Morgan Stanley seeks a Director for the Americas Payroll Operations. We are looking for an experienced leader with extensive US, Canada and Latin America legislation knowledge and expertise. The successful candidates will work closely with the Operations lead overseeing and monitoring the ADP Managed Services team – assessing and implementing process controls that align with Morgan Stanley standards and requirements. The candidate will be a thought leader with proven records of delivering scalable, employee-enabling payroll services. This positions will also be involved in processing a wide variety of compensation and deductions for our employees. It will also be responsible for new hire, termination and leave processing, employee garnishments and support orders, as well as collaboration with HR Business Partners. The suitable candidate will be able to efficiently leverage their payroll experience while executing government regulations as well as Morgan Stanley specific policies and processes. Success in this role involves the ability to be nimbly in order to transform our employee experience with compliance, security and accurate reporting. The successful candidates will be equally comfortable delivering on operations goals and payroll transformation.Responsibilities• Coordinate activities of payroll processing• Oversee ADP Managed Services activity – including file loads and reconciliations• Ensure payroll is processed in an accurate, compliant and timely manner• Ensure compliance with statutory reporting and filing requirements • Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly and year-end reports• Review and improve payroll policies and procedures• Ensure all payroll information and records are maintained in accordance with statutory requirements• Build strong partnerships within HR, Finance and Legal• Review processing of relocation expense reimbursements• Maintain eTime labor law and firm policy compliance• Analyze compensation-related data including wages and bonuses• Oversee payroll transactions (e.g. via Workday)• Conduct regular audits on payroll procedures and records• Manage payment calendars for calendar year• Report to management on payroll issues and changes• Review and analyze general ledger data

Qualifications

Education/Experience/Key Competencies• Bachelor’s Degree• 7 to 10 years prior work experience in a fast paced NA America Payroll or HR department environment• Strong Managerial/Supervisory experience• Certified Payroll Professional designation preferred• Working knowledge of Workday, ADP GlobalView and ADP eTime• Extensive working knowledge of Federal and State payroll policies, including FLSA laws, overtime and termination regulations for NA America payrolls (US, Canada and Latin America)• Strong working knowledge of accounting principles and practices• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (advanced Excel skills would be an asset)• Advanced Excel processing and interaction with IT would be an asset• Individual must be able to easily learn new applications, interpret and analyze payroll data, while being innovative and having the ability to adapt to change. • Strong oral and written communication skills required in order to effectively resolve issues with HR, employees, Legal, etc. while sustaining a high level of confidentiality inherent to Payroll matters.• Proven ability to work in an organized manner with the ability to manage time effectively to meet strict deadlines, at times handling multiple tasks concurrently while maintaining proper prioritization. • Just be self-motivated with the capability to think and act independently with strong attention to detail as well as potential risk issues.
