Responsibilities :
  • Responsible for working with the Senior State Tax Manager on accurate and timely completion of the quarterly state income tax provision and monthly/annual budget process by completing first review of state calculations and provision reports.
  • Review quarterly state income tax estimates and annual state income tax extensions & returns.
  • Manage the property tax budget and review annual property tax returns.
  • Lead state audits for indirect and direct taxes and manage the relationship with our indirect tax consultants handling reverse audits and property tax appeals in the indirect space.
  • Perform state tax SOX controls, including review of new vendor contracts for inclusion of appropriate tax language.
  • Establish and maintain regular touch points with various finance groups to ensure tax matters are appropriately addressed, including the Global Business Services team that handles compliance for indirect tax.
  • Manage special projects aimed at state tax processes and efficiencies.
  • Manage tax analysts within the state tax team, and develop, maintain, and grow the team professionally
  • The Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting, Master’s in Taxation preferred.
  • You have at least 6 years of relevant tax department experience in multistate taxation, including income tax and indirect compliance and ASC 740 reporting.
  • Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles – GAAP
  • SAP knowledge, Corptax experience, Vertex tax compliance, fixed asset system knowledge are a plus 
  • Strong knowledge of tax laws and financial and tax accounting principles
