Job Description:

We have an excellent opportunity for Tax Senior Manager in either our New York City Private Client Services (PCS) Practice. The PCS practice deals with family-owned businesses, high net worth individuals and families and the trusts, estates and companies that generate their income and wealth transfer issue between generations. Clients that are serviced by the PCS group are located throughout the country and the world.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review family-owned businesses, high net worth individuals and families and the trusts, estates and companies that generate their income and wealth transfer issue between generations income tax returns, including related schedules and forms.
  • Share responsibility for engagement planning, organization, and delegation to maximize efficiency & effectiveness, achieve quality goals, maintain productivity, and maximize utilization and realization
  • Manage, coach and mentor less experienced staff
  • Act as a technical resource on all tax issues
  • Respond to inquiries from other offices, both nationally and internationally
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining superior client relationships in the PCS client niche
  • Provide tax technical support (review and manage) on complex issues related to individual income tax returns
  • Assist in the creation and development of estate and business succession plans for PCS clients
  • Participate in strategic marketing and branding initiatives to increase revenues from the PCS area
  • Conduct and present in technical sessions, focusing on recent developments to professionals throughout the firm
  • Help develop marketing materials to highlight the firm s High Net Worth, trust and estate capabilities, and related affluent family services
  • Ability to cross-sell other departments of the firm using this leading niche of the firm's business plan, such as valuation services, wealth management, estate planning
  • Develop, educate and train staff and assist in the growth and development of the Firm s professional team members
  • Required:

  • Bachelor s Degree in Accounting
  • CPA Required
  • Excellent communication skills (oral/written), organizational and interpersonal skills, and attention to detail
  • Strong project management and analytical skills
  • Strong leadership, training, mentoring and staff development skills Professionalism, dependability, integrity, and trustworthiness combined with a team mentality
  • Extensive knowledge of income, estate and gift tax planning, compliance and consulting
  • 5+ years of relevant tax experience at a public accounting firm with 2-3 year(s) as a Manager
  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
