We have an excellent opportunity for a Tax Manager in our New York City Private Client Services (PCS) Practice. The PCS practice deals with family-owned businesses, high net worth individuals and families, trusts, estates, and companies that generate their income and wealth transfer issue between generations. Clients that are serviced by the PCS group are located throughout the country and the world.


  • Be an integral part of the firms PCS practice, working in conjunction with the Tax Partners in our PCS Group located in our New York City office
  • Extensive knowledge of income, estate and gift tax planning, compliance and consulting
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining superior client relationships in the PCS client niche
  • Provide tax technical support (review and manage) on complex issues related to individual income tax returns
  • Share responsibility for engagement planning, organization, and delegation to maximize efficiency & effectiveness, achieve quality goals, maintain productivity, and maximize utilization and realization
  • Participate in strategic marketing and branding initiatives to increase revenues from the PCS area
  • Conduct and present in technical sessions to professionals throughout the firm, focusing on recent developments
  • Develop outside relationships with a goal of fostering business development opportunities through involvement in leadership roles in professional groups, community service, and personal relationships with other professional advisors such as attorneys, investment advisors, insurance advisors, and private bankers
  • Share responsibility for all business aspects of client relationships including billing, collecting and maintaining profitability
  • Ability to cross-sell other departments of the firm using this leading niche of the firm's business plan, such as valuation services, wealth management, estate planning
  • Develop, educate and train staff and assist in the growth and development of the Firms professional team members in a mentorship capacity
  • Hold team members accountable for achieving engagement & personal career goals

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • CPA certification
  • Advanced tax degree or JD is desirable, as well as other relevant professional designations such as PFS, CFP, or CLU
  • 5 or more years of relevant tax experience at a public accounting firm with 1 or more years in a managerial capacity
  • Broad exposure to federal and state income taxation
  • Significant experience servicing High Net Worth individual clients & their related entities, businesses, & families while working with their various professional advisors (attorneys, estate planners, investment advisors, or insurance advisors)
  • Excellent project management, analytical, interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership, training, mentoring and staff development skills
  • Professionalism, dependability, integrity, and trustworthiness combined with a team mentality
  • Highly motivated self-starter with ability to multitask and complete assignments within time constraints and deadlines
