Discover an opportunity to play a key role in the continued growth of the Wealth Management Solutions Department at BSNB! We are seeking a VP, Wealth Management Officer to work collaboratively with our customers to insure a positive impact on every customer and community we serve, and seek opportunities to meet the wealth management and fiduciary needs of affluent clients.

This position is responsible for business development and growth, investment activities for our customers, and trust administration of the most complex trust accounts. Accounts may be in any of the following categories: probate, guardianship, living and testamentary trusts, investment advisory and custody accounts, escrows, supplemental needs trusts and employee benefit trusts.

Wealth Management Officer duties include:

Work with Commercial Banking Officers and other lines of business and centers of influence to identify prospects for wealth management services including employee retirement plan management.
Call on existing or prospective customers to build new business, develop relationships with referral sources, and identify and capitalize on opportunities.
Manage the administrative and fiduciary functions in each of the accounts assigned. The nature of these account responsibilities will vary according to the type and complexity of the account.
Provide investment guidance in accordance with the needs and goals of each customer.
Provide quality service to each account assigned through a thorough knowledge of the personality and requirements of each account.
Administer all accounts according to applicable laws, regulations and policies and in accordance with the trust documents to carry out the intent of the trust.
Contact and correspond with beneficiaries/principals and other interested individuals involved in the assigned accounts pursuant to established guidelines.
Prepare required reports or information as requested by supervisor or management.


Minimum of 8+ years trust administration experience.
Advanced knowledge concerning trust administration, investments, and tax laws as they apply to individual and fiduciaries.
Business development experience in the financial services industry, with a track record of prospecting new business and enhancing existing relationships in the capital district area.
Ability to read and interpret complex trust instruments, and make decisions based upon knowledge and research.
Advanced knowledge of trust computer systems and capabilities.
Certification or Licensing Requirements: At least one of the following certifications would be a plus for this position: CFP (Certified Financial Planner), CRSP (Certified Retirement Service Professional), CTCP (Certified Retirement Service Professional), CTCP (Certified Trust Compliance Professional)
