The Assistant Vice President (CRE Accounting) is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and other internal financial reporting. Additional responsibilities for a variety of accounting functions such as preparation of accounting schedules and related journal entries, maintenance of subsidiary ledgers, monthly reconciliations, SOX compliance and SEC reporting.. Essential Job Functions. Utilize knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, knowledge of Company accounting policies and professional judgment to determine or recommend appropriate recording of transactions and/or in reviewing transactions under your supervision.. Ensure the proper and continuous flow of accounting activities needed to maintain accurate complete financial records.. Maintain effective communication with other departments as a basis for assuring complete and accurate financial information and appropriate documentation.. Plan, organize and maintain the accuracy of financial information recorded and reported.. Prepare journal entries to accrue revenue and expenses or other items in accordance with GAAP and the accounting policies established by the company. Review general ledger coding for cash entries, accounts payable and wire transfers as needed.. Prepare schedules as needed to analyze general ledger accounts to ensure accurate posting of financial information and propose corrections to general ledger as necessary.. Provide support schedules used in budgeting, debt covenant compliance, and other analyses as needed and / or review those prepared by third-party administrator.. Prepare analyses necessary for efficient quarterly reviews and annual audits and / or review those prepared by third-party administrator.. Process invoices for payment and prepare final accounting.. Perform other duties and projects as assigned.. Education. Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration required.. Experience and Qualifications. Minimum of seven to ten years of general ledger accounting experience.. CPA preferred.. Ability to resolve and analyze accounting issues in-depth according to GAAP.. Familiarity with public company SEC reporting and SOX compliance. Advanced Excel skills and strong overall PC proficiency.. Excellent analytical, organizational, and project management skills.. Manage multiple tasks, projects, and ability to prioritize.. Ability to work collaboratively with all levels of employees including management to maximize performance, creativity, problem solving, and results.. Adaptable to changing environment/technology.. Applicable knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.. Other Skills. Requires a self-motivated individual who pays close attention to detail, demonstrates strong organizational skills, and who can prioritize in a fast-moving environment. Must demonstrate strong GAAP accounting knowledge and skills. Resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with clients and colleagues and can effectively communicate with all levels of the organization..
