Belden Inc. is now seeking an experienced Pricing Director for our Enterprise and Industrial Cable businesses. This role will report to and work out of our Indianapolis, IN office.

This position supports the VP and GM of Enterprise Connectivity and Industrial Cable Americas businesses through the development and execution of a pricing strategy within the Belden Americas region. This position is directly responsible for the development, delivery and execution of standards, policies and best practices that are aligned to the business segment strategy.

The Pricing Director will work closely with Product Marketing, Finance and Regional Sales teams to provide analysis and recommendations to objectively guide and influence the pricing strategy. They will work closely with cross-functional, business partners to provide transparent reporting and insight into the Pricing Strategy objectives, analyze opportunities and ensure delivery of financial commitments. This includes: assisting in developing short-term and long-term strategies, identifying business risks and opportunities, financial performance analytics, monitoring and forecasting, pricing support, and decision-making support for the broader Senior Leadership Team as it pertains to pricing strategies.

Responsibilities of the Pricing Director will include:

  • Developing consistent strategy design and framework, tactics, value based pricing strategies and margin realization strategies.
  • Analyze and interpret market trends, customer data and profitability analytics to uncover opportunity insights, ensure reasonableness of findings and seek cross regional input in the development of pricing strategies.
  • Manage financial aspects of migration plan for; product innovations, price increases, product price establishment and other analysis supporting the Pricing Strategy.
  • Provide consistent financial reporting on key business indicators. Develops regular scorecards indicating results, risks and opportunities. Proactively identify opportunities to enhance metrics, tools and reporting.
  • Establish processes for the product pricing best practices including value based strategies in determination of market pricing, volumetric floors and margin expectations.
  • Provide subject matter expertise to the commercial teams on pricing strategy and implementation.
  • Collaborates cross-functionally on departmental projects and initiatives. Proactively develop processes, tools and other means to continuously influence decisions.
  • Understands and applies price elasticities and market pricing power effectively.
  • Understands and anticipates the impact of market conditions, field response and competitive response in support of pricing strategies.

  • Required Skills and Experience for our Pricing Director Role:

  • Bachelors degree in quantitative major (finance, economics, business, mathematics, statistics)
  • 5 or more years of relevant industrial and enterprise product pricing experience
  • Intermediate / Advanced Excel skills
  • Experience managing pricing processes that involve cross-functional partners
  • Expertise in developing and monitoring pricing approaches; experience with database and KPI management.
  • Understanding of different pricing approaches in different regions, value-based pricing and price negotiations
  • Strong leadership skills: Ready to take a leading role in work streams; exercise influence in decision making process among diverse functional & geographical areas & at all levels of management
  • Strategic thinking: Must be able to see operational trends and activities and relate their impact to the 'bigger' strategic picture
  • Strong communications: Both verbal and written, including presentation skills essential
  • Fluent in written and verbal business English
  • Proven ability of successfully managing complexity across multi-functional stakeholders and building strong relationships
  • Strong analytical thinker: with ability prioritize and resolve trade-offs between competing demands
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to influence decision making across diverse functional areas and all levels of management
