The Opportunity | Sr. Accounting Manager

Responsible for all segments of the general accounting function either directly or through subordinate supervisors. Responsible for the employment, training, motivation and evaluation of assigned employees. Responsible for overseeing and compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations and reporting requirements within a manufacturing environment. Subordinate activities include maintaining general and subsidiary ledgers of the facility, preparing operating and financial statements and reconciling bank statements. Other subordinate activities may include fixed asset control and depreciation, accrual to meet anticipated liabilities, preparation of general tax reports such as those for sales, payroll and personal property taxes and payable/receivables. Responsible for maintaining accurate records of earnings, profits, cash balance and other financial results. Requires Bachelor's degree (in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration) or equivalent and ten to twelve years of related experience. Supervisory/Management experience.

Your Challenge

  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of earnings, profits, cash balance and other financial results.
  • Responsible for the employment, training, motivation and evaluation of assigned employees.
  • Assists in the development of goals, policies, priorities, and procedures relating to financial management, budget, accounting, and/or payroll.
  • Directs financial portion of the Bid and Proposal process, supporting new and existing contracts and all government contracts within the group
  • Provides financial projections by coordinating budget/forecast preparation; collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial information; advising departments on the collection and analysis of data.
  • Establishes system controls for new financial systems and develops procedures to improve existing systems. Assists with the installation and maintenance of new accounting, timekeeping, payroll, inventory, property, and other related procedures and control
  • Comprehension and compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS).

Your Expertise

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting/Finance or Business Administration
  • 10-12 years of experience within manufacturing environments
  • At least 10+ years of experience in the field of accounting.
  • Government contracting experience; specifically with FAR 12 / FAR 15.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Access, Excel.
  • Extensive working Knowledge of Government contract requirements.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Prior experience preparing information for internal, external and DCAA audits.
  • Strong organization skills, flexibility and the ability to set priorities.
  • Work accurately with close attention to detail.
  • Must be a US citizen
