POSITION PURPOSE

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONAL COMPETENCIES:

1.

Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide service/care appropriate to the age of the patients served, in accordance with Mercy Medical Center standards.

2.

Working with Trinity Health, implements processes, procedures and system upgrades at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center and affiliates.

3.

Develops and maintains credible relationships with all hospital and Home Office staff in order to provide customer satisfaction.

4.

Is responsible for processing non-purchase order invoices and check requests submitted by MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center, MercyOne Medical Services, MercyOne Baum Harmon Hospital and Clinics and MercyOne Oakland Hospital and Clinics.

5.

Assists with Targeted Jobs Tax Credit in maintaining balances and processing credits with the State.

6.

Knows and understands purchase order policy and provides guidance to properly process purchase transactions.

7.

Serves as the coordinator between MO and UAPO for incoming invoice mail and submission process.

8.

Works with the Trinity Health procurement team to establish and maintain the vendor master file for the accounts payable system, ensuring that vendor account information is established appropriately, including remit to addresses and W-9 information.

9.

Assists with the review and research of Sales Tax due for multiple states.

10.

Manages the PCard program.

11.

Assists Manager with the Kronos Scheduler and Analytics.

12.

Serves as the business owner for multi-line distributions and accounting re-classes.

13.

Supports Payroll activities including processing of Biweekly and Monthly payrolls, employee deductions, employee reimbursements, garnishments and other wage assignments (per state and federal guidelines), wage verifications, and disability for payment in accordance with established departmental policies and procedures for MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center and all it's subsidiary operations.

Maintains the payroll deduction code and earnings code master files.

15.

Maintains and performs electronic direct deposit and positive pay procedures.

16.

Assists Manager in addressing all payroll inquiries expeditiously.

17.

Demonstrates advanced working knowledge of computers and department specific software (i.e. word, excel, Peoplesoft Payroll, internet, Kronos and Lawson, etc.)

18.

Complies with health and safety standards and guidelines such as maintaining a safe environment, reporting and recording of health and safety-related incidents, demonstrating understanding of emergency plans, and safe use of department equipment. Complies with Safety and Infection Control Policies and Procedures.

19.

Actively participates in department meetings, committees, conferences, and in-services.

20.

Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Mercy and Trinity Health Mission, Vision, and Values in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

Maintains confidentiality of information pertaining to clients, physicians, employees, and Mercy business.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires a minimum of 1-2 years of post high school accounting education. Would consider 2 years of related work experience in lieu of each year of formal education. Requires a minimum of two years of accounts payable or payroll experience. Knowledge of Federal Wage and Hour regulations and employment tax regulations required. Must have advanced working knowledge of computers and department specific software. (i.e. word, excel, Kronos, Peoplesoft HRMS, Peoplesoft GL, internet, or related systems). Must have advanced system maintenance knowledge of Payroll systems; Peoplesoft preferred. Strong query and downloading skills preferred. Ability to work as a team member and to work independently. Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills required. Ability to perform a variety of duties characterized by frequent change, and requiring foresight and leadership skills. Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment. Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission, vision, goals, and values of MercyOne and Trinity Health.
