CHANEL, Inc. is seeking a Lead, People Operations & HR Excellence to manage our newly formed ?People Experience? Team responsible for the successful and efficient delivery of high-volume customer facing concierge, transactional and analytical HR services to all functions and Chanel employees across the US. This role is a customer-driven team leader and will support the start-up and implementation of a new and enhanced employee experience. This role has responsibility for the development and implementation of the HR service delivery model components including process design, project management of new infrastructure and vendors, along with managing, training, and auditing of team cases and contributions. The Lead, People Operations & HR Excellence will also be responsible for compliance administration coordination and execution ensuring adherence to company policies and procedures, and applicable state and federal laws related to leaves, unemployment and benefits administration.


  • Oversees the People Operations Specialist team and center function, including the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of processes and procedures, to support the HR function and the employee and manager populations. Includes oversight of LOA and Worker?s Compensation.
  • Drives continuous improvement and operational efficiencies in HR processes and procedures; design and implement innovative solutions.
  • Interaction with external parties and management of key vendor relationships.
  • Ensures all specialists are appropriately trained to deliver high-quality services.
  • Researches, collaborates, and recommends HR third-party vendors for services needed, initiates RFPs and participates in SOW and contract negotiations.
  • Develop strategies in partnership with HRIS team to further expand the use of current technologies in support of end-to-end HR solutions.
  • Develop Service Level Agreements and standards for metrics and KPIs to measure operational effectiveness.
  • Keep current on all employee-related legislative and regulatory changes and/or developments (multi-state updates), and ensure Chanel, Inc.?s HR policies and standards are timely updated to reflect changes to rules and regulations.
  • Complete work that requires comprehensive knowledge of Employee and Labor Relations regulations and practices, such as wage and I-9 audits.
  • Oversight of all HR related statutory or company required trainings.
  • Develops leave related reports; monitors trends, provides insights and recommendations for action to HR/business leaders to improve Employee experience while effectively managing costs such as overall benefit claims cost, STD/LTD and Worker?s Comp costs?
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • 6+ years of broad and progressive HR experience, including people management.
  • Process orientation skill set and successful track record of design and implementation.
  • Excellent interpersonal, leadership, and management skills and high professional standards for customer service and work quality.
  • Systems orientation and HRIS experience ? Workday experience preferred
  • Functional HR experience and demonstrable experience in HR shared services.
  • Knowledge of policy and process required in operating HR Services and standardized processes.
  • Ability to work effectively in high-pressure situations that require sound decision making involving confidential or sensitive matters.
  • Ability to recognize and handle sensitive or confidential information appropriately.
  • Must have a strong customer-service orientation, be organized, flexible, detail oriented, and proactive
  • Ability to write and speak clearly, easily communicating complex ideas
  • High proficiency in Excel including formulas, pivot tables and charts
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or a related area or equivalent experience
