We are working with a global manufacturing firm, headquartered in Charlotte, as they look to strengthen their accounting team ahead of an ERP system conversion. The company has consistently grown through acquisition and organic efforts and has doubled in size over the recent years. You will be working with a fantastic group of professionals that challenge and support each other. They manufacture a wide array of products that are used globally, with a worldwide customer base adding complexity to the accounting and reporting. This role will support one specific division and be the corporate liaison with multiple manufacturing facilities. Plant Performance Reporting: Support the Plant Controller in developing, analyzing, and reporting of performance, budgets, and outlooks, monthly close, and financial controls. Assist in performing plant analytics and analysis of anomalies and variances to enable the plant to address issues and improve performance. Maintains and improves the cost accounting system; ensure procedures are followed for item cost maintenance, including leading the annual pricing review for the new model year. Reviews and analyzes inventory, cost of goods sold, and margin reports, conducts research and performs review in regard to cost or variance analyses. Work with Manufacturing and Plant Management to determine causes for significant long- and short-term performance shortfalls on Key Performance Indicators and focus efforts on overcoming any shortfalls. Reporting to Corporate Finance. Inventory Control: Support the Inventory & Accounting Analyst in managing plant raw material, packaging, work-in-process, finished goods, and MRO inventories, while ensuring the presence of an adequate system of internal accounting controls. Perform plant accounting functions and ensure adequate control over all transaction flows (invoicing, fixed assets, and general ledger) and reporting methods. Analyze and implement best practices to strengthen internal controls. Annual Budget and Standards Revision Process: Assist in the annual plan process by coordinating the establishment of new product standards, direct labor and variable overhead rates, and common overhead budgets. In addition, this position will provide support through data input and assurance of earnings/expense balancing in SAP. Experience : Minimum 4 years of manufacturing accounting or equivalent accounting experience required Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Possess an ability to communicate effectively across various levels of the organization globally. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial analysis concepts. Disciplined self-starter with excellent organizational skills and a proven ability to work independently, confidentially, and with limited direction. Strong system skills including knowledge of a fully integrated ERP system.
