The Payroll Systems Analyst will provide support to the payroll system functions for the Harvard Medical Faculty Physicians, the employed physician group at BIDMC.

Ensures payroll functionality and controls for a partial or full-cycle payroll processing, including pay sheet creation, time and labor interface and retro-active pay processing. Meets all deadlines and ensure timely and accurate weekly payroll cycle for multi-entity payroll. Essential Responsibilities: Assists the Payroll Manager in confirming payroll calculations and system balancing, maintains system controls, assures system integrity. Runs system interfaces and programs as required. Provides training and ongoing support to internal customers on WorkDay. Monitors WorkDay business processes for Payroll to ensure accuracy to their completion. Manage workflow to ensure all time cards and payroll transactions are processed timely and accurately. Review payroll documents for compliance with Company policies and procedures. Ensure tax compliance in all local jurisdictions. Ensure compliance with Federal, State wage and hour laws. Process off-cycle check payments according to company policy and federal and state regulations. Research and verify discrepancies to assist the HR, Benefits and Accounting Departments. Assist with special projects and ad hoc reports when needed. Assists Accounts Payable and prepares special checks upon request. Places stop payments and prepares replacement payments for payroll and vendors. Under the Payroll Managers guidance, creates and documents test plans for enhancements and new releases for WorkDay new releases; reviews existing system functionality to determine opportunities for improvement and increased efficiency. Under the Payroll Managers guidance, creates and maintains process documentation for internal use. Responds to audit requests from internal auditors, external auditors and end-users. Responds to data requests as needed. Provides backup to payroll manager and staff as required. Under the Payroll Managers guidance audits with corresponding documentation and reconciliation. Routinely interacts with the user community (managerial and staff), makes recommendations for enhancements, coordinates system upgrades from a payroll and finance perspective. Works with Excel reports and interprets data and takes action as necessary. Assists Accounts Payable and prepares special checks upon request. Places stop payments and prepares replacement payments for payroll and vendors.
Partners with Human Resources on new hires and payroll. Perform other job related duties, as assigned. Required Qualifications: High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree preferred. 1-3 years related work experience required. Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Workday. Competencies: Decision Making: Ability to make decisions that are guided by general instructions and practices requiring some interpretation.
