A highly regarded and well-established accounting firm is looking for an Accountant to join its Family Offices Services practice. Our clients include a significant number of successful entrepreneurs, well-known entertainers, and established Wall Street executives. Our Family Office Services group provides high-net worth individuals and their related entities financial management and accounting services customized to fit their needs and objective. Our services range from bill pay, cash flow and expense monitoring, financial reporting, investment analysis, and various other financial and administrative projects. The position requires an individual who has strong interpersonal skills, a strong desire to provide unparalleled client service, attention to detail as well as a strong technology background. Indeed, as the firm continues to adapt to client needs the FOS team is looking to implement enhanced technology to increase the efficiencies and level of client service. The candidate will need to be open to change, have an understanding of accounting software and enjoy finding new and better ways to serve our clients.

Duties and Responsibilities

Review bank reconciliations and monthly general ledgers for accuracy

Reconcile and analyze bank/brokerage accounts as well as private equity and alternative investments

Review bill payments processed by bookkeeper

Provide cash flow and budgeting analysis

Assist with long term financial planning for clients

Monitor and review household payroll from payroll vendors

Coordinate between clients and their advisors including banks, investment and insurance

Provide support on special project as needed

Implement all of the above in line with firm policies and procedures and ensure the quality of our service to clients (including a paperless environment)

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance

5 years of experience required

CPA License or CPA Candidate preferred

Experience working with high-net worth families or a family office a plus

Prior tax experience a plus

Proficient technology skills, including experience in Microsoft Office and QuickBooks, and other accounting programs

Superb communication skills (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

Able to problem solve and think both creatively and logically

Able to work alone or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness

Detail oriented and thorough

Diplomatic, tactful and discrete concerning confidential information
