Summary Reporting to the Corporate Controller, the Plant Controller has primary responsibility for the fiscal functions of Attis Ethanol Fulton and functions as a business partner with plant and Corporate management to effectively manage and control the local business.This position will be significantly involved in account analysis and reconciliation, journal entries, month end close, regularly scheduled filings, and assisting in bank relationship management in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles. Essential Functions: Lead the Accounting staff at the plant with accountability for plant-level responsibility for general accounting, cash flow management, payables, order entry, billing, cost accounting, bill of materials, business analysis, and financial reporting Submit all financial transactions and reporting on a timely and accurate basis Ensure accuracy of the physical inventory and reported results, investigate and explain physical adjustments, and that costing accurately reflects production operations Maintain a perpetual inventory for unfinished and finished goods and reconcile to production and shipping Regularly interface with Plant leadership to discuss production and costing issues Review labor reporting and cost, material costs, overhead, distribution cost, returns and inventory levels Reconcile all inter-company accounts monthly Verify vendor and customer accounts are set up per contract terms in the accounting system, i.e., correct contract type, rates, etc. Oversee and share responsibility of the A/P department to ensure accurate and timely processing of payables, purchase orders, employee expense reports, cash control, and company tax compliance Oversee and share the responsibility of the A/R department to ensure accurate and timely management of all receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, and funding service management Assist with journal entries, general ledger transactions, month end close and related financial statements Reconcile bank statements and other balance sheet accounts on a regular basis Participate in annual audit and quarterly reviews Establish and maintain controls that verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data, enhance the company's value, and adequately safeguard assets Respond to requests for information accurately and timely to facilitate financial needs Maintain fixed asset accounting system Develop and maintain monthly scorecard for plant profitability Participate in a wide variety of special projects and compile a variety of special reports Requirements: Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance or related field Minimum of 8 years professional experience with at least 3 years demonstrated leadership experience with general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, income tax and banking working knowledge Public accounting experience a plus Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP Proficient in MS Office and dynamic accounting systems; advanced Excel skills required Proficiency in Intacct accounting software by Sage is a plus Excellent analytical and organizational skills Must be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously while adhering to deadlines in a virtual office within a fast-paced environment Must have a high level of customer service orientation Excellent written and oral communication skills are critical Demonstrated flexibility and the ability to work as a member of a team Proven ability to build relationships within the organization and with external sources Knowledge of office administrative procedures and ability to use standard office equipment Work requires continued attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials, data entry, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines Apply via LinkedIn
