Overview
Support the sites President and other senior leadership at the sites, develop and maintain the operating and capital budget for the sites (both strategic and routine capital), analyze key performance indicators and assist in producing business plans for new services proposed. Ensure compliance with regulations. Serve as a liaison between site leadership and corporate finance.
Responsibilities
General Finance:
* Attend Daily Operational Huddle. Speak to areas of financial concern in staffing and low census. Discuss moving staff to other areas based on volume and the need to close units based on census. Address any questions raised pertaining to site financial issues by the Management team.
* Prepare weekly financial scorecard to be submitted to Corporate accounting by 10 a.m. Monday morning.
* Participate in weekly update with President, Director of Operations/CNO, CMO and other site leadership as deemed by the President to discuss current operations/strategies/concerns. Includes position discussion as necessary.
* Participate in a weekly meeting with Director of Operations/CNO to review all submitted position requests. Review departmental staffing and volume to justify approval or decline.
* One on one monthly meeting with CMO to discuss and answer any financial issues on his direct report departments. Also address current hospitalist vacancies, the locum expense and all other physician issues with a financial impact.
* Monitor daily volume activity DAR / revenue & usage, WAR and MAR. Prepare trending reports. Bi-weekly payroll. All other expenses on monthly basis. Assist in variance reporting to corporate accounting for the month-end close.
* Generate service line / departmental P&L's to assist in business decisions.
* Prepare the Operating and Strategic Capital Budget with management team of the site.
* Monthly prepare slides for the Management forum held on the third Tuesday of the month, report on the overall AHS and Site performance and any other relevant financial information.
* Approve Foundation released from restriction.
* Monitor Foundation capital $'s and submission.
* Monitor compliance with grants.
* Review/assist with Site and AMG practice business plans (both budgeted, unallocated and new)
* Maintain and monitor NMC/HMC Lean projects.
* Monthly one to one's are held to review departmentals. Discussions take place on area's that are over budget or under. Action plans are put in place at time of meeting that will improve financial performance.
* Bi-weekly performance improvement meeting. Review WHPUOS performance and monitor productive and non-productive hours by unit. Discuss barriers of not meeting target and put plans in place to improve the performance moving forward.
* Review all Routine Capital requests with Director of Operations/CNO approve and release based on patient care, quality and safety. Round on all active projects to monitor and discuss status.
* Maintain site financial visibility by rounding on various departments and attending department staff meetings to assist managers in explaining monthly financials and requirements.
* Ensure finance participation in the Fiscal Committee for Patient Care Management Council. Council for shared governance in which the management team collaborates with nursing and shared governance councils.
* Ensure quarterly Finance training classes for all managers and coordinators held timely. Review Vista reports and include other areas in on classes such as Budget and Reimbursement, Strategic Sourcing, Payroll and Accounts Payable.

* Member of the ISS Project Assessment Committee
* Member of the EPIC revenue reconciliation team
* Quarterly Corporate Compliance Committee
* Quarterly Advisory Board meeting, presenting financial results as deemed necessary.
* Quarterly nThrive denials meeting
* Quarterly Western Region Market Growth Council
* Monthly Facility Team / Eckroth meeting
* Monthly Finance Director/Manager meeting
* Bi-weekly EPIC Operational Readiness meeting
* Bi-weekly direct report meeting
Qualifications
* Degree in Accounting or Finance
* CPA designation or Master's degree preferred
* At least 7-10 years of progressive healthcare finance experience
* Strong analytical, interpersonal and managerial skills
* Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with all levels of management at the sites and corporate
* Demonstrate leadership ability, confidence and executive presence
