This National Guard position is for a PRODUCTION CONTROLLER,Position Description Number D1259000 and is part of the PA UnitTraining Equipment Site, National Guard.

As a Production Controller, GS-1152-07, you will establish plans,schedule, and control the maintenance and repair of a variety ofvehicles and equipment such as combat vehicles, heavy-dutyengineering and mobile equipment, tracked vehicles, towed andself-propelled artillery, communications and electronic equipment,guided missile systems, and small arms. Study directives, modifywork orders and regulations as to their application in the unit.Designate and maintain current maintenance repair priorities byForce Activity Designator, pacing items, Equipment Readiness Codes(ERC) A, B, and C equipment type, available funds, commander'spriority, state/national priorities, (in the case of floods, fires,and mobilizations) and unit supported. Provide assistance to ensurethat Modified Table of Organization and Equipment (MTO&E) or Tableof Distribution and Allowances (TDA) reportable Line Item Numbers(LIN) are properly managed, reported and accounted for with respectto readiness reports, property accountability reports and systemmanagement. Analyze repair methods and recommends control proceduresto ensure that accomplishment of programs meet priorities anddeadlines established by higher authority or support activities. Inthe absence of the higher graded production controller, ensures thatunit CL IX accounts are funded, budgeted, and executed to maximizereadiness; and performs demand analysis on CL IX expenses todetermine proper PLL stockage to sustain facility missionrequirements. May provide day-to-day technical guidance tolower-graded personnel assisting in the maintenance production ormaintenance management processes. Perform other duties asassigned.

GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Experience, education or training whichindicates the candidate can reason in quantitative terms,communicate orally and in writing in a clear and concise manner,understanding the terminology and data pertaining to repairoperations and process characteristics of the production activity.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Application must indicate at least 12months experience, education or training working with people fromvarious levels and backgrounds. Experience with a general knowledgeof the functions and procedures of production control, records,references, and techniques for developing production control data.Experience assisting or maintaining workflow.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND COMPETENCIES: Applicants who meet theeligibility requirements will be further evaluated by the nominatingsupervisor based on the following competencies considered essentialto perform the duties and responsibilities of the position.

  • Knowledge of production control procedures and operationssufficient to collect, compile, correlate, and maintain productiondata.

  • Knowledge of policies, regulations, and processes governingproduction control operations to carry out established productionassignments.

  • Knowledge of equipment, such as, combat vehicles, armoredpersonnel carriers, towed and self propelled artillery, engineer andpower generating equipment, tactical vehicles, etc., to correct andanalyze a variety of routine production data and processes, prepareproduction schedules, prepare reporting data, etc.

QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE: Length of time is not of itselfqualifying. Candidates' experience should be evaluated on the basisof duties performed rather than strictly on the rank of theindividual; however, established compatibility criteria/assignmentsmust be followed. The applicant's record of experience, training,and education must show possession of the knowledge, skills, andabilities needed to fully perform the duties of the position to befilled.

SPECIAL NOTE: Per the Labor Relations Management Agreement ifthere are more than 15 qualified applicants for each position, bycategory, a KSA board will be convened in accordance with Section17.8 of the LMRA.
