Your new team

The Investment Accounting group at AIG is responsible for the accounting and reporting for AIG's Invested Assets, which totals approximately $335 billion comprised primarily of fixed maturity securities and includes private equity, hedge funds, commercial/residential loans and equity securities. The team's specific responsibilities include reconciliation of transactional data from various sub-ledgers (Clearwater, Investran, and LMS) to the general ledger and ultimately AIG's financial statements as well as all related external reporting for investments (10Q/K, Financial Supplement, STAT Audited Financials and Investment NAIC reporting). The team is also responsible for the implementation of new GAAP and STAT accounting standards as it relates to invested assets, establishing the accounting for new transactions or new investment types and management of the risks, controls and AIG audit as it relates to investments and Investment FP&A.

Your contribution at AIG

  • Execute accounting processes and reviews related to the monthly accounting close to ensure accuracy of the investment data for AIG's invested assets including Net Investment Income, OTTI and Allowances under CECL.
  • Execute and manage the global OTTI process for AIG Inc. and its subsidiaries across GAAP and STAT.
  • Preparation of AIG's Statement of Cash Flow for investments and reconciliation to source data.
  • Preparation of certain Investment disclosures for AIG 10Q/K and Financial Supplement. These include all Investment, Lending, Fair Value, VIE Footnotes and Investment MD&A.

What we are looking for

  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5 - 7 years experience in Accounting for Investments.
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income and Equity Securities.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting pronouncements, US GAAP and US STAT disclosure and reporting requirements.
  • High level of initiative, ability to work independently, including strong organizational and management skills for teams and processes.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects at once, to prioritize appropriately, and to produce results under tight time constraints.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to maintain relationships at all levels within the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with staff, peers and other external and internal audiences.
  • Computer proficiency with a strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
