The Company


This appointment is with a profitable, growing, private equity owned and highly respected specialist in software and hardware including both products and services. It operates through multiple business streams and locations with four sites in the USA, four in Europe and sales offices in the Far East. It employees c1,000 colleagues, has sales of $140m and is on a very steep growth curve both organic and acquisitive.


The Role


  • You will work as a close business partner to the CEO and have finance teams in the groups key locations in both Pennsylvania and Idaho.
  • There will be some flexibility as to which of the two bases you operate from.
  • Each business has its own distinct challenges and opportunities and a management structure which includes finance at varying levels depending on the scale of the business.
  • As Chief Financial Officer you will play a pivotal role in the future strategic development and financial leadership of the group.
  • The role embraces the full mix of financial responsibilities, reporting and controls and you will look to improve financial performance, review planning and systems and develop value added strategies and business plans that will deliver the growth.
  • In addition to finance, the role encompasses IT, acquisition integration, M&A, due diligence, managing external relationships with key partners and stakeholders, regulatory, forecasting and risk management to name some and all within the context of a global footprint.

The Candidate


  • A world-class professionally qualified accountant who combines technical excellence, intellectual rigor and business acumen is required.
  • You will need to demonstrate a superb track record rising to CFO level in international multi-site groups ideally private equity and importantly you will have a good understanding of the broader demands of general management in a corporate environment such as this.
  • You will also have a hands on approach, have worked in an environment which has a strong KPI culture and have the gravitas necessary for such a key role.
  • International experience along with M&A are also key requirements.
